Satvik.fyi began with a simple irritation: the practical wisdom of the Indian traditions, how to eat, how to breathe, how to work, how to sit still; is scattered across a thousand sites, most of them selling something, few of them citing anything.
We wanted the site we could not find:
- Source-first. Classical claims carry their citations, the texts and verses they come from; and modern interpretation is labelled as modern.
- Non-dogmatic. The traditions disagree with each other, gloriously; we present them as they are, not as one flattened instruction manual.
- Private. No accounts, no trackers, no cookies. Your dosha quiz result and meal plan live in your browser’s local storage and nowhere else.
- Free, always. This is a non-profit effort. There is nothing to buy and nothing will be paywalled.
What is already here
The Body pillar carries the satvik recipe collection with a weekly planner, the asana database, and the herbs & ingredients reference. The Mind pillar holds prāṇāyāma with honest safety notes, meditation practices, and the mantra collection. The Soul pillar maps the classical paths, karma, gyan, bhakti, the eight limbs, and a careful introduction to tantra.
A dosha quiz ties the practical side together: answer twelve quiet questions and the recipes, asanas, herbs and breathwork all filter themselves to your constitution.
What is coming
A wiki of scriptures, deities and concepts; sitewide search; and this blog, which will carry essays and working notes as the site grows. If that sounds worth following, the RSS feed and the newsletter (bottom of any page) are the ways.
Welcome, and if something here is wrong, tell us; that is what the comments are for.
